Our July Messy Church was on Saturday 24^th July – same time just a different day!  We had great fun as usual – this months theme was all about Holidays.  We talked about how holidays are a time of rest and relaxation and spoke of how God rested on the Sabbath.

The weather was perfect which meant we were able to play some games outdoors for a change.  Our first one was a Coconut Shy, with teams battling it out against each other for the most coconuts knocked down.  It’s not as easy as it sounds either!  Next up was a water relay race, we had to fill a cup with water and run to the end of the course to tip our water (or what was left of it!) into a bucket.  The amount of water was measured at the end of the game and the winner was the team which had the most in their bucket.

 We moved indoors for the next game – each player had to see how many marshmallows they could get in their mouth whilst saying the tongue twister - ‘She sells sea shells on the sea shore’ – no chewing was allowed!  Hilarious and I’m not going to divulge who had the biggest mouth on that one!
