Kingsfold Methodist Church

`New'--- Nativity 2020

This year has certainly been a ‘different’ one for all of us.

Our church at Kingsfold had to close its doors way back in March at the start of the first national lockdown.  It was closed for 29 weeks before briefly re-opening in early October for just 4 weeks.  This was closely followed by another lockdown of 4 weeks.

During that time we have missed celebrating lots of special occasions in our church family – Mothers Day, the launch of the Shoebox Appeal for International Aid, Easter, two Baptisms, Pentecost, Penwortham Gala service, our annual Family Fun Day, Strawberry Teas & BBQ, so many Messy Church evenings and other occasions.

Thankfully recently, we have been able to open our doors to meet and worship together again in time for both Advent and Christmas, although our celebrations have been more scaled down than is usual with no Christmas Fair nor Messy Nativity.

However, nevertheless, it has been a joy to be able to worship together this past month as we have once again remembered and celebrated the birth of Jesus.

Our church has looked quite beautiful decorated with the Christmas tree, the Christmas banners and star and with a small Nativity scene set up at the front of church to remind us of the season.

If you have not been able to see these in person we have posted some photos alongside for you to see.

The future is uncertain, but barring another national lockdown – our church will continue to open its doors each Sunday morning for worship in a safe and Covid secure environment.  We look forward to seeing those of you who are able to worship with us.

Stay safe and well, God bless.
